Kuehne + Nagel launched its expanded pharmaceutical distribution center in Geel, Belgium, making it one of the largest in the KN PharmaChain global network. By offering standardized, reliable and compliant end-to-end logistics solutions, the new site plays a strategic role for Kuehne + Nagel customers looking for logistics solutions dedicated to the pharma and health sectors to support their growth. The new site offers multimodal temperature-controlled shipping and storage services. It is also fully GxP compliant and certified. KN PharmaChain is made up of a global network of more than 220 sites, 600,000 m2 of warehouses dedicated to the industry and a team of specially trained operators. “The extension of the Geel pharmaceutical platform is part of our strategy to offer integrated logistics solutions to our customers, at the very heart of one of the most powerful pharmaceutical clusters in Europe. The Geel hub is located near Brussels and Liège airports, with quick connections to the 15 other main European KN PharmaChain sites. The site covers a total surface of 22,000 m2 (with 10,000 m2 of extension) and has 2 cold rooms to meet different temperature requirements. In addition to the Geel pharmaceutical hub, Kuehne + Nagel is currently investing in a 15,000 m2 pharmaceutical facility near Brussels Airport (BruCargo), which is scheduled to open in the second half of 2020.
